Resizing photos using Fotosizer;

Ok, so you have a bunch of photos from your latest trip that you’d like to share with everyone, but since your camera is the latest megapixel marvel, the photos are too large to send via email or upload anywhere… so… you need to ‘resize’ the photos…

1.)  Let’s say your actual large sized photos as retrieved from your camera are placed in a folder called ‘Trip Photos’ in your C drive;

1.)  Make a new folder, say… ‘Photos for uploading’;

2.)  Open Fotosizer and click on ‘Add Folder’ (marked in red);

3.)  Select the ‘Trip Photos’ folder and click ‘OK’

4.)  You can now see the thumbnails and number of photos in Fotosizer;

5.)  In the right ‘Settings’ panel, select ‘Preset size’

Upon selecting ‘Preset size’, the settings panel will change as shown below;

6.)  In the ‘Preset size’, click on the  button, select ‘800x600’;

The higher size you select, the larger your ‘resized’ images will be, you can experiment with a few sizes to see what suits you best, ‘800x600’ is the recommended size to view photos online.

7.)  In the setting checkboxes below ‘Preset size’, make sure only ‘Maintain aspect ratio’ is checked;

8.)  Click on the Destination folder icon (marked in red);

Select the ‘Photos for uploading’ folder and click ‘OK’;

Make sure of the following as shown in image below;

‘Duplicate source image folders’ is NOT checked

‘Output Format’ is set to ‘JPEG (.JPG)’

‘Filename mask’ is set to ‘%F_%D-%M-%YYYY’

9.)  Click on the ‘Start’ button (marked in red);

The Resizing progress is shown, this may take a few minutes depending on the number of photos;

10.)                     Once done, you can close Fotosizer, all your photos are now available in the ‘Photos for uploading’ folder, resized and ready to upload!
